rps Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 How many specimens of each "model" have you scanned? I do not mean to denigrate your work, but everyone must realize the early warts were the product of imperfect industry and were barely "interchangeable" parts. That is the reason they varied so and that is the reason some of them (the ones NOT chucked on the bank in frustration) caught fish. That is also the reason Normark changed the production process. Almost all of their new products will run true and catch some fish. But the process lost the search for the "one."

Quite frankly, there was so much variation in the old Warts that I completely understand where you're coming from. The simple truth is I'm not going to fork out the money to scan 30 old Warts to come up with a statistical answer. But I did average 2 for the comparisons of the first run. But I only hade one "Kraken" to scan. The results of the thickness of the lip were virtually identical. Edited to say: I also found more variation in the new Warts than I expected. But definitely more variation in the old. This is why the Japanese lures cost $20 and run great out of the box. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

Guest Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I sanded the bill on a new wiggle wart today. I'm not sure it helped . They seem to be very fickle when I comes to adjustments. I've been thinker that a snap or o-ring that's thinner in diameter might help on the pre Rapala. They seem to have a pinch point in the line tie.

Guest Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I see that a lot. Did you strip them with acetone or sand them by hand?
dtrs5kprs Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 3 different types of plastics on pre-Rapala Warts...2 different sounding rattles But no clear. So that would make at least 4 different plastics.
