Members Golf Pro Posted February 24, 2014 Members Posted February 24, 2014 Congrats to Brett Groeteke for the win and catching the only two daily limits at the Central this weekend. I hope that the fishing improves soon. On that note what does everyone think it will take for the fish to start eating again and how long will that take? Will the BFL show a marked improvement in weights because of the A-rig? And one last question, will the BFL take more to win than the two day total from the CPA?
Sprint21fter Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I would take 16lbs with the A-rig during the BFL if nothing changes and the next few weeks. Club fished yesterday using rigs, and 12lbs won it. He had 7 bites and 5 were keepers. I threw the thing all day except for mixing in a jerkbait again, and had 4 bites but no hookups on the rig. The water temp needs to creep up a little more and things should get more active but I don't really know. The last 4 trips I have been I have caught 4 fish all of those being keepers. 2 trips I boated nothing.
jmes Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 If we go by the Winter Series tournaments I would think it would take over 20 lbs to win. I'll pick 21.37lbs
Sprint21fter Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Fished all of the Winter Series this year and believe me after the last Aia and the same teams that fished the Winter Series Championship caught 20lbs sacks two weeks before the last AiA can defintely have the potential to catch 20lbs. The BFL is a few weeks away and things could really change in the positive direction for alot of anglers to catch some big bags. All we need is some "stable", no more artic cold fronts/warmer weather to move those big females up in the water the water colum and if that happens more presentations will come into play. Good luck.
jmes Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 They move the BFL that was suppose to be on Lake Of the Ozarks this coming weekend to Table Rock. So it should be exciting
roy_eros Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Yeah the BFL has been moved to this weekend. Weather looks sketchy at best with some precipitation on Friday.
Champ188 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 BFL will take way more than 10 pounds, which was the average per day for the Central Pro-Am. Not only is the A-rig in play, BFL will have a heckvua lot more than 38 boats.
RSBreth Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I saw some dead shad flipping around in Indian Sunday - made for a tough bite for sure. Maybe they'll be more hungry this weekend - maybe not.
