Members stitch Posted February 28, 2014 Members Posted February 28, 2014 Were planning on being down there the weekend of April 4th. All I keep reading is how low the lake is, do any of you locals think it will have come back up some by then? Will most ramps be usable??
Old plug Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I do not know the current stage but will look it up. I looks to me like it is about 5 ft low. I do not expect to se much rise for for. several weeks.
Jerry Rapp Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 big floods coming in late March. 661.5 will be the lake level. You can fish around sheds and real trees. ( I did that several years ago). Bottom line, it depends on the rain. Hell, It might still be frozen thanks to global warming.
Old plug Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Jerry I really wanted to get out there this afternoon. but these old bones do not react well to the cold air temperature. Was so flat the sun was beating down on those that rocky north shore. Maybe nothing. But i missed being there.
Jerry Rapp Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 in two weeks you can pick your day young man. And then tell fish stories.
Old plug Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 young man???????? I wish Jerry.. i will be entering omto my 75th year in a couple weeks.
fishinwrench Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Stitch, they won't start allowing it to fill back up until mid-late April. Any big rains we get before then will just result in Ameren letting it right back out. Regardless you'll still be able to launch/load unless you're using a ramp in the very backend of a cove.
