ozark trout fisher Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 Mizzou+ basketball=3 hrs of high comedy. The constant NCAA talk regarding Mizzou by Brad Nessler and Jimmy Dykes was hilarious. If the committee doesn't watch the games, our resume isn't too bad. But when you see the carnage live, the selection committee has to say to themselves "Isn't there someone, anyone else we can put on the bubble for consideration. ANYONE?" We won a game where Shane Rector made key contributions in the clutch. And where Jabari Brown (after a huge game) and Jordan Clarkson spent much of crunch time sitting on the bench fouled out. Basketball is weird. If I was a Florida fan, I'd be awfully excited to play Missouri tomorrow. I think we have a real chance to stay within 50 points of them, heck maybe even 40 if we play a little better. If we succeeded in anything it's throwing USC and Arkansas out of their rhythm by making them wait an extra hour to play.
Flysmallie Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I haven't watched them play much this year but I did catch quite a bit of this game. I've been watching high school teams that play better than this lately. Â Â
ozark trout fisher Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 I haven't watched them play much this year but I did catch quite a bit of this game. I've been watching high school teams that play better than this lately. By the end of the game, there were literally high school level players in the game for both teams due to foul trouble. A&M was about to have to send their manager out if we went to 3OT.
ozark trout fisher Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 And Arkansas goes down. Looking like a 3 bid SEC, if Tennessee can beat South Carolina anyway. If not, maybe two bids.
Jerry Rapp Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Mizzou's NBA light team ups their NIT ranking. Anyone else ready for a Kim Anderson led team where he actually cultivates some players for at least 2 or 3 years to form a team?
BATCAB27 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I don't know about Kim Anderson. But I'd be in for offering Greg Marshall a butt load of money.
Quillback Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Freaking Hogs down in flames, I'm done with them until next year, NIT is for chumps. Let's hope Mizzou pulls it out against FL.
ozark trout fisher Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 I don't know about Kim Anderson. But I'd be in for offering Greg Marshall a butt load of money. I'd honestly be up for either. Obviously, Greg Marshall would be the first choice, but I could live with giving Anderson a shot. He wins big at his level and if he had a good staff to help him recruit, it might translate. If not, it might cost us an NIT bid or two. Worth trying. But before any of that, we're going to get at least one more year of my favorite Reality TV show, called " Frank Haith's Amazing SEC Adventures". Whether that will be enjoyable or not depends on whether Brown/Clarkson come back. Felt bad for Arkansas. Just couldn't quite break through this year. But they are making progress. and have some pretty good young talent. They'll be okay. They're a team that could benefit from a long run in the NIT, in terms of getting tournament experience for next year (when they'll be in the tournament, barring an epic disappointment.)
