FRENZEL Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I for one would be happy to go catch some giant bass in a managed lake, farm pond, or anywhere. TRACY FRENZEL FRENZELS GUIDE SERVICE 417-699-2277 "ONE MORE CAST"
Jerry Rapp Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 whatever floats your boat. There is a time in life where you sort of like a challenge. Fishing a stocked/managed fishery to me is just sort of like saying I just want to catch fish and don't want to figure out how to really catch them. Most of all Trout fishing in Missouri is similar. If you want to spend dollars on stockers so be it.
arsenal1477 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Mark- Good stuff, great story. Just like with anything else you are going to have girls that are going to thumb their noses no matter what you do. My dad and I have been coming down to fish Tablerock on an annual basis for over 30 years and there is nothing more that we look forward to each year. As with you I can relate to sharing that bond and I am even more envious that you guys got to take a trip outside the "sphere of influenc". Even though this forum contains some of the most knowlegable anglers I have ever had the pleasure of reading discussions on, I too have had my moments where I was close to being disuaded from coming down there because of an ignorant few. Don't you be disuaded either, its just a game of who's is bigger. I dont care what lake you fish, an 11lber is ridiculous. You guys have every right to be proud. Table Rock Lake is not the standard, nor is the lake you fished, but that big bass sure as hell is! Cheers.

If a public forum makes you cringe when someone contradicts you, then you need to re-think. Public forums are to express your views. If we all had the same views, then the t.v. show The View would have no viewers.

As you just stated I too am expression my beliefs towards his story just as you have so eloquently done. I agree that public forums are a place to express opinion and views, but there is a certain way it should be done, especially when all the guy is doing is showing off some pictures of bass. Who cares if it didn't come from your glory hole, a bass is a bass. Myself saying an ignorant few is not a bad thing just that there is an absence of understanding. I'm not trying to bark up your tree friend, just stating my opinion on your absence of tactfulness when being 'ignorant' towards your fellow angler. Those are awesome fish, he should be proud.
jerry241 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I'm not sure but I would bet a couple good warm weeks in a row would do wonders for everyone's disposition ..... Come on spring

If you want to spend dollars on stockers so be it. If I had the dough and didn't fear for my life I would for sure fish El Salto or a Mexican border lake. The chance to hook into a world class bass isn't going to happen in Missouri or anywhere within 1000 miles. Heck it's not even really the fact that he caught a 11lb'er....it's that he shared a great time with his dad while he happened into a giant bass. The fact that you want to crap on his memories is sad on your part. You are surely entitled to your opinion but when you discourage someone from posting here or alter the way they feel about a cherished memory you in the wrong. Biglerma pay no attention to these "haters" and please continue to share you info here on OAF. For every 1 person that doesn't like it there are 100 that do. Thanks for the report and pics. I for one appreciate it.
Guest Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Jerry is just mad because you weren't throwing a wiggle wart. Don't mind him. Great fish and great story. Thanks for sharing!
