Quillback Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 I wonder if it would work at Grand lake in the stained water? Those fish probably see very little of "Ned".

Champ188 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 No fish in Grand. They all died. Move along, please.
bluebasser86 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I wonder if it would work at Grand lake in the stained water? Those fish probably see very little of "Ned". Almost all our lakes are pretty stained (<5' visibility), and plenty of fish fall for the Ned in those stained water lakes.
Quillback Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 Cool, Ned may have to make a trip to Grand, if, as Champ says, all the bass are dead, I hear Ned is a great drum catcher!

I can unashamedly say that I have sight fished many a drum with the Ned when the opportunity presents itself. Nothing like a little Kansas redfish action on light tackle The bad ones are the ones that you don't get to see before they strike. A drum can fight a lot like a big smallie for the first few seconds of the fight sometimes.
Quillback Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 They're kind of fun, I've caught them fishing jigs on Grand - they'll HAMMER that jig, and like you say fight hard for a bit - then they give up. I can certainly understand why guys fishing tourneys don't want to be bothered by them, but I don't mind getting bit by them when I'm fun fishing.
dtrs5kprs Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 If it pulls, it's fun. Thus the futility of catching walleye.
rps Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 If it pulls, it's fun. Thus the futility of catching walleye. You just go ahead and talk that way. I know it makes you feel manly. When you land one that weighs the same or more than your line test, come back and we will visit.
