dtrs5kprs Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Haha yeah, I only ever fish the k-city area of the lake, and I do it in Mid summer. The power boat yahoos just use the bridge as a landmark I guess.....They all come way up or down lake, then just u-turn around the pilings and go back.....why this is fun for someone Ill never know...but its annoying in my little bass boat! ALso I love that he caught it on a wacky rig senko....that is my favorite jig and plastic presentation! I think he was using a weight though? Ive had best luck with it weightless. HWY 13 bridge, apr 10, 2008. I think that is looking north towards K-city INN. Cool pic I thought. I lived in springfield at the time and used to fish the rock regularly, even tried to fish when it was this bad (terrible idea btw.), but I thought it was awesome that I was able to touch the bottom of the bridge on the north side without even standing up.image076.jpg Hoss...that was one of the best times to be on the lake, ever. Hard part was getting launched, easy part was catching fish. Fantastic spinnerbait bite for weeks on end. Flipping bite for brown fish in back yards. Caught them on chairs, fences, LP tanks, lawn ornaments. Crazy. Was better than the rapid rise of 2011, and that was pretty good. The barge tied to the swing set at Schooner Creek Resort:
Sprint21fter Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Best spinnerbait bite I have seen in a while. I have a new pattern if we have a flood like that again "trash hook" pattern. Caught so many solid fish up to 6lbs on the trash hooks at Baxter and other camp grounds that year. Awesome.
J-Doc Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Let's get back to the spotted bass record. It will take a while to get the paperwork filed and processed but it is a true honor to be listed in the record books with some incredibly accomplished anglers. I've been to the IGFA museum in Florida. It's a sight to see. Would like to go back. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
mjk86 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Holy crap RPS.....the jealousy is coursing through my veins!! That is a true giant! How big was that?
rps Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Holy crap RPS.....the jealousy is coursing through my veins!! That is a true giant! How big was that? That 2011 fish was 32 inches and 13.75 pounds. I caught another a week or so later the went 10 pounds even.
mjk86 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Hats off to you sir!! That is a real goliath! You are the master of table rock walleye!
Champ188 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 If we had their climate the spots might take care of the jet skis. Wouldn't be safe to swim. LOL, dang right. Good one.
