LittleRedFisherman Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Nothing really exciting here, but had a great time with my boy this afternoon. Went to a neighbors place that lets me sample his bass populations.. My boy really had a great time, he even caught a couple dandy bluegills I didn't get a pic of for some reason. I wanted to bad to go to a spot on Current River that should be good for smallies, but my son and I were baching this weekend as the wife was at a youth retreat with the kids at Church. I just not ready to take him to the river yet with all the dangers, plus his attention span, but he did great today, he's growing up as bad as I hate to see it. He's got the knack, he caught 2 all by himself with a small jig. Jerkbaits were working for me today, they were hammering it, so I never tried anything else, caught about a dozen!! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Chief Grey Bear Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Awesome work there dad! Let the weather warm up a bit and then take him out on the river. When it is warm enough they can get in the water and play around a little, it will make it a great adventure. Fish a little while, swim a little while. Do that a couple of times and he'll be begging to go every weekend! Great Advice Chief, we get out on the boat a lot in the summer, just on the lake, but I think he's about ready, and that's good advice, sounds fun for me to!! Awesome report... Right now, he loves it!! Yuki Ito would be velly ploud! Have you tried your 110 Jr yet, that thing has been my go to the times I've fished this winter!! When you get him out on the river and you guy's pull over, start showing him the little crawdads, the minnows and the small frogs that hang out on the gravel bars. That will fansinate him and get him egar for more. Between that and some splashing around....!!!!! Smalliebigs Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Sweet report Brett!!!! I love these type of reports.....can't get enough of them.....simply awesome. I agree with Britt, kids on small streams....the possibilities are endless. My dad taking me to creeks is what spawned my love for fishing and is why I love creeks so much.........Great job daddy!!!!
