I have Florida over Louisville, with Virginia and Arizona rounding out the final four in my first bracket. Not optimistic about Wichita State making any type of run. As a matter of fact, I had to seriously consider dropping them in the round of 32 to Kentucky.

But I definitely don't think the Shockers are getting past the sweet 16, at the furthest. They are a real top 10-15 team, but their region is just too brutal. Generously, they are the 3-4th best just in the Midwest. Along with Louisville, Michigan and Duke would have clear edges if they should end up playing Wichita State.

But hey, they're a heck of a lot better than Missouri, and also the best team in their state by a decent margin. So there's that.

Shockers in my heart. Loved watching them play this year but getting through the Midwest Region is going to be a shoot out. Definitely the toughest region and eliminating some top teams.

Yeah, I don't get why every year they have to pack so many good teams into one "region of death". They never fail to do so, though.

The Shockers are a good team and deserve a nice run. I honestly have to believe that the selection committee did this on purpose to keep Wichita State from advancing. It's tough to find another way to justify that the best on just about every seedline is in the midwest. Even the play-in 11/12 seeds (especially Iowa) are really good teams with Sweet 16 potential.

KU probably wants to deliver a championship for their biggest fan, who is ailing at the moment.

KU is one of the most fraudulent 2 seeds ever. 9 losses and Joel Embiid injured? I was expecting a potential 4 seed for the Jayhawks, and could have made a credible argument that they should have been a 5-6. Certainly they aren't even in the same stratosphere as a Louisville team that was seeded two lines lower.

I wouldn't underestimate them. The fact is that BB teams don't have the talent spread between the big conferences that FB does. Just look at the history of the NCAA tournament. They're are a lot of no name schools at the top of the list. You don't go undefeated in any division one without a lot of talent. They may go out in the first game, but so could Florida.
