I saw the water patrol out on flat creek all day today. He acted like he was running sonar looking for something for hours. He was not by the old bridge piers, he was by the old road that goes into the lake right by the old Doty's bait and tackle store.

Had a friend hit that pillar a few years back and knocked the lower off the motor. Cost a bit. You have to go closer to the shore there than I am comfortable with to hit it though.

More reasons to just stay in Aunt's Creek.

We had just talked to those guys before they left the dock while we were cleaning crappie. They were back shortly after and we figured they had forgot something till the guy running towards the hotel said they hit a pillar and one guy had a gash on his head. One of my buddies is a county cop and he made the call to 911. We hung around till the first responders showed up and then headed back to our room. The Skiles guy who was driving said he has been coming down there since the late 80's and made that run hundreds of time but just lost his bearings on where he was for whatever reason. He is also the guy holding up the state record paddlefish on bridge ports we page. The owner at Flat Creek came down and we talked to him for a bit. He said that the corps won't do anything about those pillars and that there have been several accidents involving them.

It's like driving a car, they tell us dont take your eyes off the road. same with operating a boat, don't take your eyes off the water ahead of you.

It doesn't matter how long you have been coming to a certain area, when one becomes complacent, accidents happen.
