Nothing is out of the realm of possibilities with the NED. Everything you listed can be caught by the Ned rig.

I'd add lakers in the spring and certainly cutthroat trout as well. Lahontan cutts would probably hit it, and if you could find brookies large enough, they'd bite. It would be a stretch to say that any of the Pacific salmonids would hit the little rig, but...you'd need to upgrade hooks and line, taking the finesse factor out of the equation.

There is a range of saltwater fish that would be suckers for the little rig, but that, like salmon, is probably a stretch.

I NEED to catch a choupique THIS year. I've freaking caught Long Ear Sunfish on them in creeks. I've got a cold so I'm playing the I'm not well card.

Does anyone have a video link or "short description" on how to fish the Ned rig? I figured it's like any other worm bait or similar to a jig. You can drag it, hop it, swim it, twitch it, etc.

It is that simple, and then again it isn't. You can tailor it to what you want it to do on a given day.

And, on the trout question...

I can personally check off:

Blacks

K's

Brown Fish

Meanies

Goggle Eye

White Bass

Channel Cat

Flathead

White Crappie

Black Crappie

An enormous variety of sunfish

Ned has some cool multi species reports up at his In Fisherman blog, and occasionally passes along reports from saltwater types as well.

All fish will eat it.

So why is Elaztech so crucial compared to any other senko? If you're dead sticking it with very little action, what's the big advantage?

Also, and you insert a worm rattle or use a bead in front of the jighead to make a little noise? Seems if you're keeping it in one spot, you would want to make some noise with it to call the fish in.
