Everybody's looking for a "magic bait." Despite what the tackle companies will tell you (and I know, because for years I was the one writing that stuff), there is no such thing.

Darn near every crankbait, and every color, will catch fish. It's more about when, where and how, than what.

However, the Flicker Shad is a quality bait with an appealing action, at a good price, and one of the few that just about anyone can count on catching some fish with. If you've never tried one, you should.

The Magic is not the bait though flickers must have been invented by Houdini, a good magician never reveals his secrets but the illusion is based on knowledge of how to make the magic happen.

I would say it more about knowing your boat, knowing the lure, knowing your electronics, knowing your rod, reel, line and how to wave your wand to make them all pull off the illusion.

about how fast are you guys trolling with these??

As fast as the ski boat traffic. That way we blend in and no one notices that we are actually fishing. Lol!!

Kidding...

1.5-3.5mph with 2-2.5mph being the staple. Typically 100-150ft of line out. Read the dive chart on the back of the package. 150ft out will give the max depth range.

He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!

Small asterisk to the above comment ^. You can get extra depth if you are willing to put 200 to 250 feet of 10/2 braid out. I don't like to do it, but 2 to 3 extra feet can make a difference.

1.5 TO 2.7 if you have crappie on flats single pole troll only and make wide sweeping circles it will add a lot more action to the bait and trigger the bites. If you are on Beaver Lake have the drag set light the stripers love them and will quickly detach it from your line. Remember you should be using no heavier than 10lb test line. Floro will help it get a little deeper as well. If you need to get it way down make a 5ft leader and at the top of it attach a 1/4 to 1/2 egg sinker to the main line and barrel swivel as the connection.
