I will be down with my wife 4/5 through 4/10. I am fearful of the conditions. It has been so cold and I will need to put my wife on some bass. I would like her to be able to catch many and size does not matter. I on the other had would rather catch bigger bass.

We will be fishing out of Kimberling City so I guess that we could run 5 miles or so in any direction.

Thanks in advance of your help.

4/5 and 4/6, 105 pros will be fishing out of the KC area. Many of them will run more than 5 miles, but on those two days you may have to take a ticket to fish points. Fortunately, they will be gone after the weekend. Honestly, I would make Saturday an explore day and take a map and grease pencil to mark all the places the wrapped boats fish. Sunday, after a nice brunch, go to the weigh in to hear the pros lie about what they used.

Come Monday get serious. Quillback has been catching on tubes, the Ned rig has caught several, I had a good day yesterday on a brown wart, pbj jigs should find some fish and try swimming a smoke grub on a plain jig just barely off the bottom. Good luck.

+1 on this.

Stickbait or the single tail grub up front. Wind will help both of those, but probably not the wife.

Would set her up with something she can drag along. The Ned is ideal for that, or a tube. Try the tube rigged stupid style to keep her from being constantly hung up.

If it would warm up she would probably whip you with the Ned, tube, grub. If it does happen to warm up dragging the little green worms on a split shot rig is pretty easy.

If they will work, an advantage is using those baits will keep you both fishing the same speed. In my experience wives are not big on chunk and wind baits.

That 10 mile stretch you received is my favorite part of the lake. Lots of good water even with a crowd. Just put your head down and fish slower than the others.

Let us know how it goes. Heading for Kim City on the 13th myself.

Oh...should add, I would start by looking at rock transitions in the creeks. Steeper stuff if cold, more towards the gravel if it warms. After that, maybe staging areas off the gravel and gravel spawn pockets.

Once they start to move that first wave should be strong, with some big fish available.

Maybe we will hit Branson Sat and Sun and fish in the week. Thanks for the advise and any other tidbits as I get closer would be great.

I am glad I posted, my wife and I have decided to wait a week and then come down. As I get closer I will see if you can give any advise.

Thanks,

Teddy

If you really want a happy wife, wait until the end of the month. Much better weather and warmer water. Might even get some topwater action.

That post kind of reminds me of most of my guide calls. "We would like to catch lots and lots of fish. I would also really like to target fish in the 5 to 8 pound class." " Can you do this and what do your recommend."

If I could I would pretty much change my name to Fann and retire.

On another note, I wonder if those boys would consider adoption? Guess I cannot claim that I don't eat much.

Side Bar.

When you come to Table Rock you come to TRY and catch fish. Take the best information available and develop patterns from it and feel durn good when you put one in the boat.

This pond is not stocked and never will be. You are at the Mercy of what the Good Lord has available for you here and anytime you can catch lots and throw in a big one that is a day to remember.

Good Luck and watch the forum for what is working when you are here.
