Bigmo Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 The crankbait bite is on. Water temps up the kings past sweetwater close to 54 with a greenish brown tint. I started at 10 and ended at 2:30 right before the rain hit. I caught a total of 20 and had at least 7 get off back to the boat. All the fish were on the red and yellow crank in the pics. They were up against the bank and out deep as 23 feet. I caught 8 on one spot before i finally left. I really impressed the older gentleman watching from his deck. I had such a good day that my line broke reeling a keeper in and after waiting a few seconds the fish jumped and threw my crank. I had a extra one just like it but i retied it and continued fishing.I think the lure is one of the H20 brands from Academy. Largest was under 4 with a mix of kentuckies and largemouth. Wish i would have taken more pics but it got old after a while by myself.
dtrs5kprs Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Good stuff. That old Kings will make you feel good. Let us hope those temps keep climbing.
Champ188 Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Congrats on a very good day, BigMo. Love when that shallow bite gets going up the Kings. Pretty sure your bait is a Norman Deep Little N in tomato craw-chartreuse. Hard color to find and a darn good one this time of year.
fishingaddiction Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Great report. Congrats on finding a great crank bite. Good to hear the water temp in the 50's. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
OldMillRoad Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Great report, I am going to beat the mid lake to a froth tomorrow and see if I can get something going.
Bigmo Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 YourRightOnThe Norman. I found The Lures Packaging. I've Bought Way To Many Lures Lately.
Quillback Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 That is some great fishing, thanks for sharing!
jolicious Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Thank you for sharing! I have been messing around with some colors (after watching the crawfish videos posted recently). Can't wait to get to Tablerock next Thursday to see if I figured something out or if I have been sniffing too many paint fumes after work
