Dandelions in bloom is a good indicator. None here yet. Kc is usually a week behind STL. Leonard is usually picking a week before STL.

What's a trout lilley?

Dandelions are showing here on the north hillsides, bees will be happy happy. First major source of food for them.

What's a trout lilley?

A small, yellow lily that has green-gray leaves mottled with gray-brown spots similar to a trout. They bloom in early spring.

Thanks Wikipedia.

Forecast for the next week has lows around freezing, highs in the low 60s. Last year was later too. I think in '12 we were finding them 3rd week in March.

I have seen the flowers, just never knew they had a name. They are around when mushrooms pop.
