Sore Thumbs Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 The only time people use them around here is when they park their boats on the bank to go weigh in their fish. I would think an hds12 would get a lot more use out of that money. That being said. They look awesome.

Also stayed by a guy two years ago who had one malfunction and deploy down while he was fishing. Had to get inside the rear hatch and cut a line to get it to release so he could move. Messy.

mixermarkb Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 The power pole drift paddle idea looks cool to me- I use a drift sock on crazy windy days sometimes, and it would be cool to be able to slow the boat down at the touch of a button. Not sure it would be $2K cool, but hey, if I had it to spend on fishing...
Members AAD Posted March 31, 2014 Members Posted March 31, 2014 I have one on my high sided Tracker Targa and love it. Never use it at Table Rock for obvious reasons. But I do fish a tourney in Texas where most of our fishing is over shallow flats (2-6 FOW), full of grass and stumps. Down there we use it a ton, and has made a huge difference. It allows us to lock it down, fan-cast to all the targets, then raise and move 20 yards and repeat. I agree with mixermarkb on the drift paddle, that could be helpful on Table Rock. Essentially like a drift sock, will slow the boat down a bit on windy days. But I have not found one at a good price to purchase and try.
fishinwrench Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Let me just say that "I hate them" and leave it at that. Couple more years and they'll be a dime a dozen on craigs.
