J-Doc Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 59 That's a really really close guess to final weight. Congrats sir. I said 60-65 so the final day held up pretty close. Better turnout than expected. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!

Feathers and Fins Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Its a good bag and win on a very tough lake. Next year I would like to see better coverage, a bigger expo ( more vendors ) no fishing in PC or Avoca. I am still lost why there is not more coverage and hype about this event, the news did report over a million in generate revenue but I suspect its more than that and could be much more. Heck they never mentioned the winning wait on 4029 that I saw and the expo coverage was seriously lacking. This is a major event for our area, But the LPGA doesn't seem to get good coverage either Im just scratching my head why not. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Sprint21fter Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Beaver has been getting better and better as far as the bass fishing goes since the first huge flood several years ago. What has impressed me the most since I have learned to take a different approach to fishing the lake is the smallmouth. From mid-lake to the dam area it is the some of the clearest water there is. Smallmouth are eating machines in clear water. Look at the great lakes and northern fisheries. Those lakes are very clear now. Smallmouth on Beaver are going to become big players for these multi-day tournaments for years in the future. I have fished it when it seemed like "the dead sea" but in recent years during certain times you can catch 20lbs. Beaver can be tough when she wants to be just like our other highland lakes. You have to fish it according to the conditions and go from there. Now only IF there was a way that we could grow grass in these lakes then fishing these area lakes would truely make the fishermen around here the most versitle fishermen in the country.
