Members Teddy Posted April 8, 2014 Members Posted April 8, 2014 I will be coming down tomorrow and was wondering if you all know what patterns and baits were used by the elites. I know that many of you watched them on the lake. Thanks, Teddy

abkeenan Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I don't mean to be rude but man there are MULTIPLE threads going right now on what the BASS Elite guys where using and where. Just have to read and its all there along with pics.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 If you can, take the time to go through the coverage on the BASS site. Have to read between some lines, and interpret some pics, but there is a wealth of info there.
GNSfishing Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I'll tell you what the 2 pro's used that I rode with and that was wiggle wart in a brown crawdad, jerk bait and a finesse worm. They caught a ton of short fish on all three lures.
Sac River Jim Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Teddy it wasnt as much what the pros were using because most were using standard pre spawn baits last week with only a few exceptions. Warts, jerkbaits, flat sided cranks, swimbaits, finesse jigs and ect. It was more their approach to how they fished the lake and the techniques they used throwing these baits that i found most helpful. if you will read the topic Bill Babler posted yesterday on ''what we learned from the pros last week'' I think you will find it very helpful. it covers fishing target areas alot more methodical using several casts with different baits on the same lay down, dock or ledge and so on. we discuss the importance of making long precision casts, and different cadences using a jerk bait. there is a treasure chest of information in that one thread let alone the others pertaining to the tournament last week. Good luck to you on your upcoming trip down to ''the rock'' and Tight Lines!!!

Good luck to you on your upcoming trip down to ''the rock'' and Tight Lines!!! Well...it covers making repeated presentations to the "right" target/bank. That is the tough part. Of course fishing sticks, they will sometimes show you where they are without grabbing the bait.
Sore Thumbs Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Cranks Jerks Jigs Finnesse A-RIG! ( those pros would have loved to throw it) Spinnerbait Most fish were 20 ft or less. Throw what you are comfortable with. No magic bait. They are all working.
bluebasser86 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I was down there on Thursday and Friday and we caught a ton of short fish to 17 inchers on jerks and warts. Points and smaller pockets with about a 45* angle bank were best, even better if there was some timber. We fished around Shell Knob the first day, Baxter the next.
