Members cjgentile13 Posted April 12, 2014 Members Posted April 12, 2014 Envious… I've had one somewhat similar day this year and man, nothing beats the thrill of hitting big one after big one. Congrats.
Old plug Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Southern ILL is a real good bass area. Are was even in public lake. I have fished Devils Kitchen, Cedar. And Crab Orchard. Crab Orchard is very foreign to what you might expect in a big bass lake. I have not been there in many years. 10 lb bass were take every year. The largest string of bass I ever seen. came from there in the days when there was still a 10.bass limit. the smallest fish on that stringer was over 5 1/2 lbs amd the largest was near 8. I understand that those lakes down there are among the most fertile in region. Tqhere are a awful lot of lakes in the Shawnee National forest and I just wonder if these fish came from them. Beautiful country down there. I have a cousin lives on Lake of Egypt. I used to call it the Illinois Ozarks.
