I can't believe MOSt isn't interested. Some of the local high school teams draw better than they do. Not that I would go, but I bet he would put some butts in the seats.

It was surprising, but pretty impressive IMO. Despite being 1AA the MVC is a pretty good football conference and he's probably not going to get an opportunity at that level (unless he's willing to sit a year, rebuild his reputation, and play at 1A school which seems unlikely given his likely draft status next spring).

There will certainly be some school desperate enough for a transformative talent to take the leap, but it will likely be a pretty unattractive destination. But if he stays on the field, he could make any small 1AA program with decent surrounding talent a powerhouse for a year. He's that good, not something to be lost in his off the field trouble.

Maybe being out of the limelight will ultimately be a positive. I do hope the best for him.

1. DGB will be going pro. I would be surprised if he attends another college.

2. Columbia Police are not exactly reliable.

3. Remember the Duke lacrosse incident? If you do, then reserve judgement until it all plays out. DGB is a knucklehead for sure, but , you never know.

4. Ah screw it. He's guilty. Kick him out.

5. Fast forward 3 years from now: He's a multimillionaire wide receiver.

On #1-he can't declare until next spring. That doesn't mean he has to play college ball next year, but if he doesn't it will probably cause his stock to tank quite a bit further than if he's at least on the field dominating undersized 1AA secondaries.

Not sure about #5. Certainly has the talent to get there. But if he can't get it together, no guarantees he even makes it to league, let alone lasts for more than a short time. Hope it works out, and he both figures out how to be a decent person and how to make millions. But the latter is far from a guarantee.

As for #3, yeah, it's not been proven (beyond a reasonable doubt) that he did what he was accused of, and now without a charge/trial, probably never will be. But that police report isn't a fun read. There is always doubt in this type of situation, but there's also a lot of evidence.

#6. I hope I'm still posting on OAF in 3 years. It means I haven't given up fishing for golf yet.

He cost himself a lot of money. Remember the honey badger from lsu. He was a heisman finalist and first round lock until he was kicked off the team. Ended up a 3rd rounder to AZ and got somewhere around 3 mil for 4 years, a lot of that dependent on him staying off the dope. Last year the rams signed 1st rd WR Tavon Austin to somewhere around 12mil and 7mil signing bonus. Thats a lot of jack

Yeah it would be terrible to only make 3 million for 4 yrs. What a loser.

Dorial doesn't need to be anywhere near Springfield. I don't see the big benefit for MSU. Yeah it might put a few butts in the seats but at what cost? Plus you know you only get one year with him. And what kind of message does that send to future recruits from a team that doesn't recruit well to begin with? And more importantly what kind of message does that send to the other players in all sports at MSU. Too much to go wrong for little gain.

No college is going to want the baggage that will come with him for only one year. I for see him sitting out and applying for the draft next year and going as a 4th round or later pick.

It's my understanding that he is not eligible to play for division one team. It has been reported that he will have to go to a division two team. The problem he will face there is in showing off his talents. The NFL scouts will downgrade him most likely because of the defensive talent. He made his rep against SEC talent, but that's history.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

He can go to Division 1AA (FCS) immediately for next season but not Division 1A (FBS) without sitting a year. But you are right about the talent he'd be up against, though. Everything he does would be taken with a major grain of salt.

If he goes to a Div II school and plays hard, practices hard, does well in school, in other words becomes a model citizen, he will have a shot at being an early draft choice.
