ness
As has been said. There is no secret place to find morels. They can be found anywhere. Dead elms are very spotty on having morels, but when they do have morels, there is usually a lot of them and they are nice sized. Sycamores have always been my go to tree to find em, but last year I found probably 20 pounds in cedars, maybe more. The same spot this year had a few so far on the hillsides in the cedars and then I walked up the bottom and would find a few under several of the bigger sycamores. Good luck. Yeah -- I agree. I've seen them in places where they 'shouldn't be' enough that I try to keep an open mind about it. I guess if you spend all your time hunting under elms, you'll find all your mushrooms under elms. vonreed
I found all these yesterday afternoon and today while turkey hunting. They are popping like crazy and it may be a short season if the weather doesn't cooperate well. So go get em. Well I guess you will have to trust me, I can't get my pics to upload. I got 8 pounds or so.

Bill B.
I picked 43 nice yellows in two hours on Saturday afternoon, within 25 miles of Columbia. For central and north Missouri, now is the time.
