jolicious Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Just my opinion ... the more BASS insists on glorifying everything but the real essence of fishing, the more cockiness, rudeness and entitlement there is going to be on the water. Lots of people emulate the pros, and that's what they're seeing them do. It used to be that Ray Scott and others preached the importance of tournament anglers showing extreme courtesy and professionalism on the water. Now it's all about brighter boat wraps, acting like a complete psycho when one boats a fish, and generally being a total spectacle. Yes sir, I agree with you. Well said (err - typed).
Members DerekB Posted April 14, 2014 Members Posted April 14, 2014 I have a CCW and NEVER carry when I'm on the lake fishing, as it is against the law on COE lakes. I know that doesn't matter much for those that break the law, just throwing that out there.
Sore Thumbs Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Funny thing is, Most of the true professionals are not d-bags. It's the wanna be's that are the problem. Bill. Just a suggestion on the mossy stuff. Wouldn't a drop shot work? All the moss gets on the wheight instead of the bait.
*T* Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 "CCW against the law on COE lakes"? Never heard that one before. Would (not) like to see that statute. Seems like that would be (another) violation of Bill of Rights. "Water is the driving force of all Nature." -Leonardo da Vinci

Wouldn't a drop shot work? All the moss gets on the wheight instead of the bait. Good idea! Seems like an Aaron Martens video talked about shallow drop shotting With longer distance between bait & weight as line is more horizontal vs. deepwater vertical. The wanna-be's (corporate life, sports, etc.) are the jerks and troublemakers. That's why in most cases, they are never-be's.
Sore Thumbs Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Didn't see that. Just figured that was about the only way.

We ran into several of the Elite boys when they were there and they even slowed down going by us and we were snagging on the James. I think that was Chris Lane. We also gave Timmy Horton a ride out to his boat after it slipped off the trailer and drifted out. He was a really nice guy. When he left the ramp at Bridgeport he went out real slow until he was way out into the lake.

rainbow Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 It was nice to have some good encounters with those fellas. I had the same kind of experience at pro golf tournaments with the big name golfers. Everyone I met was a really good guy.
