Members DerekB Posted April 14, 2014 Members Posted April 14, 2014 "CCW against the law on COE lakes"? Never heard that one before. Would (not) like to see that statute. Seems like that would be (another) violation of Bill of Rights. From Federal Regulations Title 36 concerning US Army Corps of Engineers property: 327.13 Explosives, firearms, other weapons and fireworks. (a) The possession of loaded firearms, ammunition, loaded projectile firing devices, bows and arrows, crossbows, or other weapons is prohibited unless: (1) In the possession of a Federal, state or local law enforcement officer; (2) Being used for hunting or fishing as permitted under 327.8, with devices being unloaded when transported to, from or between hunting and fishing sites; (3) Being used at authorized shooting ranges; or (4) Written permission has been received from the District Commander. ( Possession of explosives or explosive devices of any kind, including fireworks or other pyrotechnics, is prohibited I apologize for hijacking the thread. I hate hearing about rude behavior on the lake, especially when I'm usually going out of my way to be extra polite. It's like people don't have any regard for others anymore.
Iclass Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 We ran into Ron Shuffield one day, he has rep for being a jerk. He was coming out of a pocket that we were headed in, told him we were struggling to catch any and he dug out about $50 worth of cranks and spinnerbaits gave to us and said go over there and try those out... We didn't set the world on fire but caught a few.. I think we all have been known for being a jerk at one time or another. Ron sure didn't have to even talk to us but he went out of his way to help out couple college (at the time) kids get some supper.
rps Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Fishing above snot: Acquire Trokar Re Volve hooks and thread a 4 inch paddle tail grub on it. Cast and retrieve very slowly just above the snot. The spin helps keep the bait shallow. Be sure to let the bait unwind between casts.

Haven't used them because of moss, but they are good for bedding fish.
*T* Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I also apologize for hijacking the thread, but can't let it go. There is no real reason to impose those restrictions on COE lakes. Just another "gun-free zone" where criminals know they will meet with no resistance when they terrorize the law abiding citizens. Just wrong. It's worse on TVA lakes. You can carry on those lakes, but it's prohibited on ramps and marinas. Go figure.
Sac River Jim Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 But Bill it can be so rewarding to see the look on the fools face when he sees you catch fish he passes up

Bill Babler Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 Mill was that you in the pocket across form Joe Bald that the idiot came into? I saw another boat coming in from the front of the cove and we were coming from the back. This guy went one dock down from me and probably 3 docks in front of the guy coming into the cove, and started throwing an A-Rig at a brush pile next to a dock. WE were both already fishing that stretch and figured we would meet in the middle and say howdy, whom ever it was and go our way. Then this nimrod pulls right inbetween both boats. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
