PAT92B Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I'm heading down to fish Table Rock next Monday thru Friday to bass fish. I'll be staying near Baxter access and fishing from a smaller boat so i'll be limited to fishing within a few miles of the Baxter area. I have only fished Table Rock a few times mainly in the fall I did watch the BASS tournament so I got some good ideas but I'm worried about the cold front coming in on mon-tue does anybody have any advice on fishing in such conditions or should I be that worried about the weather? Any help is appreciated. Last year I set up a fishing trip on this same week and got snowed on at Pomme De Terre next year i'll push it a week later.
vernon Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I'm heading down on Saturday for the week and am sorry to have interfered with your trip. This seems to happen every year no matter when we go. Last year there was snow the day before we left and that was in May! We've set more records for low temps than I can count. Trust me though, moving back a week is not the answer. Moving your trip to a week that I WON'T be there likely is! On the upside, while maybe a little uncomfortable, some of our best fish catching by far has been during these freak cold spells so not all is lost. Good luck to the both of us! Hunter53 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Wife and I are coming down the week after you guys. Make sure to take that cold with you when you leave.

techo Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Might be early for the red fin. We caught two this week on it but probably a few weeks early. Table rock is funny as what works one day is not as great the next. Most guys recommend the pearl fluke, the shaky head, the white grub tail this time of year but you never know. We had great luck with a green fire tiger square bill and I doubt many guys would have tried it. I just did as we were getting bit but not getting the hook set right and it was fun. Tim Carpenter
PAT92B Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 Thanks Vernon and everybody made me feel a little better. Is a Red Fin a big jointed bait that swims along the surface?
