lmt out Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 My father passed away sunday night unexpectedly. My father had just moved to Stockton to retire. For the last 2 years we have been walleye fishing Stockton lake. I have also been on here the last two years asking question and looking for advice on how to walleye fish the lake. We have been very successful for only doing this for such a short period of time and a lot of the success we have had is because of the advice and fishing reports on here. My dad was 68 years old and I wanted to thank all of you for helping me make the last 2 years very special to him and my family. You probably didn't know it at the time you posted something. If you see a 2013 tracker targa with a 150 four stroke on it, out on the lake this summer stop and say hi. Ed
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 7, 2014 Root Admin Posted May 7, 2014 68 is young... my dad was 78 when he passed- that's young too. You think they're going to be with you... you just don't know. Very sorry for the loss of your dad.
Mitch f Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 So sorry to hear Ed. I lost mine 1 1/2 years ago and still think about him everyday. Peace be with you. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Ham Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I'm sorry for your loss. I wish you guys had hadmore time together, but I am glad to read that the fishing and fellowship was good the last couple of years. God Bless. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
straw hat Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Sorry for your loss lmt out. We have to value the time we have with family. It is so short. Speaking of age at passing. I attended two funerals in the last 6 months of two ex employees. One was 39 and the other 41. Both passed from heart failure. And both left families behind. So sad.
lmt out Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 I am sad for the loss. But I am very lucky to have had the 45 years I had with him, a lot of people don't get that for one reason or the other. I am very lucky.
powerdive Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Heartfelt condolences, lmt out. It's a wonderful thing when you can look past the grief and reflect on all the great moments you've shared. Best of luck to you and your family as you go forward. Mike
zarraspook Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I too am sadden to hear of your loss as the most memorable times with my dad were our fishing trips to local farm ponds..... "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
Walcrabass Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Very sorry about your Father. Mine has been gone for some years now. I still think back to the times when I took him fishing and he was having the time of his life catching a bunch of Crappie. I am so grateful we got to do those things together.....
rps Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I lost Dad some years ago. Some of my favorite memories of him are our trips to Canada when I was a pre teen and our trips to the lower White River for big browns when he was in his 70's. I am very glad you were able to share his last two years.
