I wouldn't do a thing to either of those colors. Top one is my absolute favorite wart color, V38.

Our moderator would probably arm wrestle you for that V38 as is. Brown/chart is good in dirty water or on dark days. I'd fish them until the paint was gone.

thats what i was thinking bout that top color i really like it. i looked on an old color chart and i think the bottom one is a v56. i got a third one that looks like a v74 but it says storm on the bill so i dont think its worth messing with. Thnx for the advice.

Are old Warts really better than the new ones? Is there any real difference in the two? :noway:

I only tie them on, then take them off later. At that rate it does not matter at all...

I'm not sure there's a more "tired" subject on the forum than old warts vs. new warts. Makes me want to wrap my head in duct tape so it doesn't explode.

The worst part is....you used to be able to buy em for $1.50. Taking them away makes you miss them more. Now there are better baits than the wiggle wart, but they cost $12-$25.

i read a really good article by Pete Mathews on them awhile back. it made sense to me is all i will say. the way I understand it the newest molds that rapala are using hunt more like the old warts did but according to Pete theres was a difference in the density of the plastic they used allowing the old wart to suspend just a tad bit better when paused and the old have lead bb's instead of steel imitating a crayfish coming out of its winter hole a little better. Mitch had sent me a comparison he did and there was a difference in the bills. I think some the old patterns are better but as I've heard it said many times on here it's probly what you have the most confidence in. heres the link to Petes article on old vs new.
