No Justin, you're just purely naive & can't see the Forest from the high water mark! You can write a 300 page diatribe to legitimize the point of view you are beholden to but in the end it's this simple... As where you are just concerned about your bottom line, I'm concerned about the resource being trashed, thrashed, & abused! Also it should be said (I might not ever float again by the way because of recent health issues) that my position is solely concentrated with the preservation of a wonderful natural resource and it's not people like me that have ushered in the regulations, abuse of property, lewd conduct, and a myriad of other things that go with it that you & YOU'RE bussiness facilitate! Any retort to the contrary is rooted in your bottom line. I've also read some of your takes previously & seems as though you are of the mindset of "people over profits!" Unless it's this & it's abundantly clear that you prefer profit over the natural resource! Because it's so draconian to believe that if you use the resource, you should help manage it fiscally! How horrible! You are as bias as they come Sir! Good day...

The reason I do what I do is that I love the resource and enjoy sharing it with others. Many party, some too hard, numerous scout troops and church groups come from the asphalt jungles to enjoy a resource that is far from being trashed, thrashed and abused at least as far as the NFoW is concerned. You better believe the bottom line is the most important thing to me as we have an 8 year old girl and 10 year old boy that rely on us to provide for them. I'm sorry your health prevents you from floating as I think if you came and met me and my wife you would probably enjoy our company as many on this forum do. My business may facilitate what you consider to be unethical behavior, but I did not create the industry and am not in charge of it's regulation. I am a business man and you better believe I am biased toward anything that can help my business (within reason), but some actions are actually harming our resource much more than a little noise pollution and trash. The frequent 100 year floods we now have take care of the trash for us but do tons of damage to the natural resource. I have seen huge chunks of virgin banks erode up to 30 feet over the last few years due to the increase in our crazy weather events. Algae blooms occur in the rivers due to the addition of phosphates from fertilizer and waste water treatment plants. These are the true enemies of the natural resource if you are taking it as an ecosystem and not a personal retreat.

The hoards of floaters from the major metropolitan areas of St. Louis, and Kansas City are what you seem to have the problem with. Maybe people should be banned if they live in counties that are included in these metropolitan areas, that would get rid of most of the problems. I of course would be against that (as would many on the forum), but that is the kind of solution that would solve the problem. Leave the rivers to those of us who live near them, I can find a new way to scrape by. Now I have to go check on a group of dentists from Kansas City that just showed up in their RV's. This is an annual float for these guys some of whom are going on their 40th year, they will float 2 or 3 days, drink way too much and then head back to KC with some new stories refreshed and ready to head back to work. Dirty resource exploiting bastages!!!

mjk you are not stupid, you understand how things work and have learned to work around it. We don't always get our way and have to figure out ways to live with it, it seems like you have even if it doesn't suit you just right.

Your all such sissies and whimps....when the drunks get out of hand I just shoot em dead and go about my fishin....

Got presumption?!? YOU BET YOU DO! Who besides you has even remotely said anything like this? Answer, ONLY YOU! I've only spoke of Elder v Delcour and it's failings as far as not going into specificity in its ruling! As a matter of fact, the only thing I've said (like most who haven't already convicted him) is that I'll reserve judgement till the verdict is in! And if he is guilty, well bye! Ain't no sweat off my stones! But that's what a that's what a responsible individual does, they wait until all the facts come in, THEY DON'T LET PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS COME INTO PLAY, listen to the evidence, draw a conclusion, and then render a verdict! ALL OF WHICH YOU HAVE NOT DISPLAYED! Grow up & seek help! And again, if dude is guilty, BURN BABY BURN! If he is not, then move on! And I'm the one that's not thinking in a pragmatic mannor! LOL...

Back to the subject. I think there's a good chance some serious enforcement against public indecency, intoxication and language would eventually increase floaters to some degree. It wouldn't take but one summer with some heavy enforcement to send some looking for other places to act like azzholes..

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
