oneshot
Ok looking at the map Hazelgreen looks good. How Big a Boat could I put in and what kind of fish are there? Really wanting to target Catfish and I have a 12 Foot Jon with Trolling Motor. Ok got to looking and looks like the Little Jon but still need to know type of fish? oneshot
fishinwrench
You'll be ok with ypur 2' jon for a ways below Hazelgreen but IMO that is too far up for decent catfishing. There's a few in the deep slow pools I'm sure but for the most part it's bass/goggle eye water. If I were you I'd take that little jon to PB#1 (upper Glaize arm of LO) or up here to the upper end of the Gravois arm. You'll be ok in a boat that size if you go during the week before Memorial wknd. and you'll get into a bunch of good eating size cats on dip bait within 3 miles of either access. Ok I have a 18/60 Jon with 70 HP Engine. I was just wanting some place close to Bennett. Seems like if I'm really wanting to get Catfish I might as well go to Pomme de Terre. Seems Gasconade in that area is just about the same as the Niangua. oneshot
Mitch f
If your trying to fish the Hazelgreen area with an 1860 jet, you'll have problems, the only way is when the river is up after a rain "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Seth
Oneshot, isn't your 70hp a prop? I don't recall you saying anything about having a jet in the past.
