Kelroy Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I'm guessing late 70's to early 80's? Very distinctive shape, I know my dad had some blue ones and purple ones.
BilletHead Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 They remind me of the Burke buckshot worms ? Old plug Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 They are Flip Tail worms. They were just starting to get a lot of notice at the time on the market at that time. They are 46 or 47 yrs old still work like they allways did and are in like new condition in the plastic bag I bought them in.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 They were a copy, at least most of it, of the Creme Shimmy Babe or Gal. I think the Shimmy Babe was the better worm than the Scoundrel over all and I think both date back to the 50's. I was fishing them in the mid 60's. The Shimmy babe and Gal were real soft and bass would really chem on them. The worm business in this part of the country exploded in the early 60's and everybody and his brother was making them. There were a lot of shops selling bulk worms by the piece. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
*T* Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Look to be Fliptail worms. Popular worm in 60's. As I've mentioned before on these sites they made a great 6" grub (swimbait) with big paddletail. Would like to find some of those. "Water is the driving force of all Nature." -Leonardo da Vinci
