Crazy weekend coming to a close. It was tough to fish, way too many boats. Was only able to get out between daylight and around 9 am. The evenings were a bit busy too.

Might get out now and fish before I leave, looks like most are going home now. I probably won't leave until 7 or 8.

Fishing report, just fair. Yesterday, didn't catch very many crappie, but the quality was there.

I only caught about 10 crappie total, but half of those were real good ones. Two accidental bass that were of legal size.

My best ones were from way under docks.

Found a real nice bait for shooting docks. I think they are called Big Muddy baits. They are similar to a slabslayer or slab buster, but a bit more solid. They really skip a long ways.

Just a tip for you dock shooters.

Today's fishing wasn't the best. Started out with two nice crappie and one bass. Then the rest were dinks.

Google Eye stopped by for a meet and greet! Nice to meet him out there. Good luck chasing the bass!

Going out to try my luck one last time today.

Impressed that you're still finding some decent crappie, I've given up on them for now.

Excellent topwater bite going on this end of the pond on Thursday, and still happening Friday but my partner smoked me Friday throwing behind me with a square bill crank. Every fish he caught on that dang crank was an inch+ bigger than the last one I had caught....and he kept that crap up all evening.

So now I wanna go play with crankbaits but everyone else here is all fired up about going catfishing, so the bass will have to wait until I can escape on my own.

So many fish/so little time.

I have not had the boat off the lift since friday. i live close to the barefoot bar and not far from coconuts. it got very bad. i am positive you could be killed or at least seriously hurt trying to take the boat off the lift around here. I an thankful the hwy is now in control. of the water patrol. ther will no longer be any political pressure like the water patrol got a lot of. They really got tough on them this weekend.

Yeah, this is really the toughest time of the year for me. If you can find some around docks, they seem more active than the ones in open water. I caught my better ones shooting, but didn't catch a whole lot.

I did mark some on ledges in about 17-18 fow, but they were inactive for the most part. Did pull a couple of dinks jigging straight down with my jig pole.

I guess I should be bass fishing. They seemed pretty active most of the weekend.

Are those deep crappie still totin' eggs?

We got in a prime area for cats just before the storm blew through. We really should have done better, they just didn't wanna eat. 4 skinny little channel cat was the best we could pull off.

I'm blown away by how fast the water clears up now. Has sediment somehow become heavier or WHAT?

Didn't pay attention. Didn't clean any fish. The crappie that came from the deep water were dinks, and I don't think there were any eggs.

The big ones under docks, all but one looked egg-free. There was one white crappie that was pretty fat.

Clear water!!!!!

This is the clearest I've seen the Big Niangua. I've gone from my normal black/chartuese to bone-white/chartuese. Gotta have a little chartreuse!!!!!!!!

LOZ clear? You are kidding right? What kind of clarity are you talking about?

Oldplug I took our toon up the Gravois in your direction and there were multiple times when I had to stop in protected coves to let walls of cruisers go flying by. At one point we honestly thought we were about to witness a collision. I've never seen it so bad up the Gravois.

He's not kidding. 8-9 ft. of visibility where I'm at. Clearest I've ever seen it, not even the slightest bit of stain in the water even after the rain.

Highlight of the weekend was a 26# blue on rod and reel, it wanted cut bream. Missed another big one using a live sunfish, somehow the sunfish made it's way off the hook and up the leader when the big cat took it and ran. I tightened down the drag and began the reel and sweep (circle hook) and pulled the bream right out of it's mouth. Almost made me sick.

The lower end of the Big Niangua was rockin! I stayed between the 10-13mm and was tossed around pretty good. I thought I'd be able to get out on Monday from about 2:30 on, but it was still pretty crazy! Finally the rain hit about 4:30 and everyone pretty much got off the lake.

Don't know why it's so clear. Everybody is saying the same thing, that they've never seen it this clear. But I can see tops of brush piles that come up to about 6 foot and can't say that I ever have before.

The jet ski's were out in full force. Don't think I've ever seen so many on the lake at one time. And it didn't matter what time it was. I'd get out at daylight and there would be 3 or 4 of them out trying to jump my wake.

Saw two of them almost collide in midair on Sunday morning while going back in.

And this to fishermen! You should wear your lifejacket anyway, but especially THIS weekend!!!! Now that is Crazy!
