abkeenan Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Two places I hope to patronize in the hereafter... Golden Ox and Arthur Bryants... I have lots of friends in KC and the majority of them say that Oklahoma Joe's is even better than Arthur Bryant's. I haven't been there but it's on my list of "go to's". BBQ is my favorite style of food.

Here I go adding to the KC vs STL discussion and I agree that Oklahoma Joe's is dang good, but Pappy's Smokehouse in STL is very good as well. Hard to say which is better, but hands down both are better than Arthur Bryant's. IMO

Bryant's is a little different than some of the other KC cue, but the pulled pork parfait is spectacular.

mixermarkb Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Lol, you guys are making me hungry! I gotta go for Memphis as far as pork tho... Texas or KC for beef, but Memphis and Eastern Arkansas joints know how to cook pig.
Unimog Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 I'd pick Oklahoma joes over Bryant's any day. Bryant's burnt ends are shredded up, not chunks like I'd prefer. And for those not familiar most of KC is in mo not ks lol.
Robert Haynes Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 Ok, I started this thread so I have to respond. No place like the Hill in St Louis, no place like BBQ in KC. But I sure miss the Mexican Food & Seafood I grew up with on South Padre Island Tx. I leave for Shell Knob tomorrow morning. I guess I can not expect anywhere good to eat there?

Pepe Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 There is a new place in St. Louis called Sugarfire BBQ. On Olive just north of 170. Outstanding food
