eyedabassman Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 My wife and I just moved down here May 1 and I had been out just 4 times and not in the last two weeks. The top water bite was good two weeks ago,but only early in the day. So I will take any advice you guys have! Is the jig bite on? I was at the Kimberling bate shop and he said the fish were biting 10 to 20 ft.? I want to take the wife out this weekend or early next week.I am down by point 5. Thanks
Jason Essary Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Football the long running points. Would be my suggestion. Lot of good small mouths around hidden shores and coney. Jacob W Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 As far as I've seen, there hasn't been much topwater bite that I've gotten into where I fish mostly in the big m area.
dtrs5kprs Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Have just about put the topwater up and given it up. There are good numbers of fish out to 25', mostly on gravel for me. Were more on the ends of the points today. Craws are everywhere around the bank and ramp, less so shad/bait.
huntest Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 No topwater action for us either. Saw a bit of surface activity but no takers. Followed up with swimbaits and caught some nice keeper Spots.
huntest Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 A first for me today. Just as I was landing a nice keeper Spot it upchucked half of a gp / orange Zinkerz into the drink.....no jig just plastic.
Champ188 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 The Rock is a demanding mistress -- of your time, especially. Gotta get out there and put in the hours to learn what works sometimes, what works every now and then, and what doesn't work at all. You'll get some guidance here, which you can take to the lake and put to the test.
rps Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Officially, the top water bite on Table Rock does not end until the 4th of July. And almost every year that statement is true. One June, 2007 or so, I caught more than 20 bass over 4 pounds on top water. An older member, SKMO, was even deadlier. Officially, this year's top water bite has stunk. I have hope that the fall top water bite is awesome.
Champ188 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Gotta say, I do hope we don't have the overabundance of shad we had last year. Tough to catch 'em when your lures are competing with that many of the real thing.
Old plug Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 That ispir current problem o LOZ. I cannot really remember seeing so many shad in the 25 hrs i havecbeen here. There are schools and bait balls several feet thick al over the place.
