bluebasser86 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Another vote for Schooner. Stayed there many times with the LBC for tournaments and a couple times for just for fun fishing trips. Nice to have a ramp right there at your disposal and good fishing without even having to crank the big motor.
steveearle Posted June 24, 2014 Author Posted June 24, 2014 Thank you everyone for all of the recommendations...After calling a lot of places, I ended up booking 3 nights at Villages of Indian Pointe...I was left with very few choices trying to book a late July trip in late June. Thank you all..
Champ188 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I know you're on here quite a bit, Steve, but I would strongly advise against leaving your boat in a slip. Strongly. Did I say strongly?
steveearle Posted June 24, 2014 Author Posted June 24, 2014 Thanks for the head's up. I was concerned and may just pull it out and park it...They claimed its "secure" but I was skeptical..
Members champ198 Posted June 25, 2014 Members Posted June 25, 2014 I stayed at a resort last year that didn't have boat parking by the room and I reluctantly left our boat in a "secure" slip. I was paranoid so I took everything out of it at night....tackle, rods/reels, graphs, etc. came down the first morning to find my 36 volt motor guide tour hanging off the bow of the boat by the steering cables. Thieves must have gotten interrupted....thank goodness. Never again. I also "strongly advise" take it out.

This, with highest recommendations. And if tmts are in town I like to back it so close to the room that it would be physically impossible to get a wrench on a prop nut or at the lower unit. Have been known to strategically move trash cans around it as well for a little zero power drain alarm system. Although that can deal did lead to a funny story involving me, a bunch of club guys from St Louis, a raccoon, a maglite, and a 9mm FNP. Justin92297 1
steveearle Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 Thanks fir the heads up...and that sounds like a good story...
Members AAD Posted June 25, 2014 Members Posted June 25, 2014 We are currently staying at Lazy Lees just off of point 7, down from the KC bridge. Real nice resort to stay at. Been coming this week for the past 5 years. Never had any theft issues. And the last 2 days have seen Pete Wenners clean fish at our dock. And Brian Snowden dropped a couple guys off here as well after guiding. Prob not as easy to get to as Schooner, but good fishing nearby.

That sounds like a hoot but you better not have shot my pet coon at Schooner. He's been hanging around there for years. Likes to go out on the dock and see what he can pilfer out of people's boats.
