stuartsx5 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Been jug fishing on Mill Creek every night since Saturday. Caught a nice flathead Saturday and nothing but only three bass on Sunday. Moved the jugs out to the edge of deeper water and have done better. This morning had a blue and a channel along with a bass. We are going to set them one more night and see what happens. Think I will move closer to the main lake and also put out some limb lines. Earl Stuart fishin is livin
abkeenan Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 If you are meat hunting trot lines are the way to go. Might be a little more involved that limb or jug lines but they will net you more cats in the end. Don't have to worry about tracking them down either or getting lost. Just be sure to have them properly marked and take them up when you are done. I see far to many just left in the water which not only makes me angry junking up the lake like that but also when snag it when bass fishing. We occasionally set one in our cove across from our dock and we catch some dandy flatheads up to 30lbs. Good luck.

Don't start calling me names because you put out a trot line loaded with 30 ned rigs and came back empty handed and felt like a fool of a Jayhawk. It's not a miracle bait Dave....doncha know that?
5bites Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Hahahaha. Hey now! Don't start calling me names because you put out a trot line loaded with 30 neg rigs and came back empty handed and felt like a fool of a Jayhawk. It's not a miracle bait Dave....doncha know that? I realize I don't know you all, but that's funny stuff right there!
Bill Babler Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I can see it now, a trotline using 6 pound test with 30 little Varmints on 4 pound droppers. Would you use the old Red and White Bobbers to hold it up. Now that is some funny stuff. Heeeeee http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
TRRANGER Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 You guys know what is really scary about your "Joke" is that it would probably work, and work really well.
dtrs5kprs Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Believe I'd go every other, alternating little rigs and jikas.
Pepe Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Which Mill Creek are you fishing? There is Little Mill and Big Mill creeks up by Shell Knob and a Mill Creek near KC
stuartsx5 Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 According to my map we were in Mill Creek, west of the campground. It shows Little Mill Creek just west of that. We did move out on bigger water a little up towards the James by the island fishing the bluffs but all we caught was this fellow. Took a picture and returned him to the water to fight another day. We caught several of em on the jug lines this weekend. More of those than catfish. Earl Stuart fishin is livin
