I like to use a spook jr. and tie a leader on the back split ring, then rig a weightless fluke to the leader.

This is actually called a meter rig, originating from the fact that the leader works best at about 1 meter (or 1 yard) long. Saltwater anglers use this a lot to catch speckled trout and redfish in the Gulf. As SOX states, it works well for bass, too. I like to put a small shad-colored feather jig on the leader.

Had lots of blacks come up around us this morning. They were busting very small shad around an inch long. I'll be more prepared for them tomorrow morning.

I got about 100 of those in my locker in 1/16 and 1/8 sizes mostly for crappie fishing. I just use plastic on them. One of the best is the tiny fluke around here. It seems to attract larger crappie.

Do you collect or fish?
