REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I like to use a spook jr. and tie a leader on the back split ring, then rig a weightless fluke to the leader.
Champ188 Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I like to use a spook jr. and tie a leader on the back split ring, then rig a weightless fluke to the leader. This is actually called a meter rig, originating from the fact that the leader works best at about 1 meter (or 1 yard) long. Saltwater anglers use this a lot to catch speckled trout and redfish in the Gulf. As SOX states, it works well for bass, too. I like to put a small shad-colored feather jig on the leader.
mjk86 Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Huge fan of the War Eagle spoons, and the Cabelas real image spoons. They are def fish catchers!
5bites Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Had lots of blacks come up around us this morning. They were busting very small shad around an inch long. I'll be more prepared for them tomorrow morning.
WettinLine Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I got about 100 of those in my locker in 1/16 and 1/8 sizes mostly for crappie fishing. I just use plastic on them. One of the best is the tiny fluke around here. It seems to attract larger crappie. Do you collect or fish?

Quillback Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 That's just great, now I have to go dig my spoons out of wherever it is they are hiding.
Bird Watcher Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I think that spoons should now be known as the "CindyJo" rig.
Quillback Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Look what Rooster Tail just came out with: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Super_Rooster_Tail/descpage-SRST.html
