Feathers and Fins Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 No clue amigo but it was like fishing in the middle of the week. Doc and I had a great time with no hassles or annoyances best summer weekend day trip I think I have ever had on Beaver ever. I don't know why or what but sure was nice. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
YAKFM Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Had no issues today fished fromt 5:30 to 2;30 and saw maybe 10 total boats of which only 1 was a wake boat 1 ski boat and one pontoon that was trying to be a wake boat we think. No sheriff no f&g no cg. The sheriff boat was out on the water yesterday afternoon/evening around 12 bridge.
M_Taylor Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Went out for a boat ride with some family before the rain came through. Saw two patrol boats, two different times. Never stopped anyone I saw. Both were traveling together the whole time.
fishinwrench Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Less than 300 in 144,000 were buzzed, and I'd guess maybe a dozen of those 144,0000 were truly staggering drunk. The way I see it that's something to brag about, not launch a campaign against. But ok, if that is where everyone thinks all the law inforcement effort needs to be.....so be it.
rps Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 The reason I like to see the patrol boats (has anyone else seen the twin engine cruiser the Mo. guys pilot on TR?) is that they act just like the cruisers parked in obvious locations along the highway. People slow down and stop acting stupid. Water gnats and blaring wake boats go away.
Feathers and Fins Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Glen, I am all for more enforcement not just for drinking and boating, but I also know those who are drinking on the water are probably still under the influence when they drive home and after loosing friends to dui drivers I am all for stopping it anyway they can. However I am also all for the enforcement for keeping the water safe. We all see the wake boats and cruiser cutting way to close to people and zipping past docks throwing massive wakes along with the blaring music etc. And im for safety inspection. With AGFC out they will be checking fishing regs as well and im all for it. To me I really don't see a downside to them doing their jobs. Remember in AR you are responsible for your wake and that is one I really want to see them writing for. I have a 190 tracker and it takes a heck of a lot to put a wake in the boat but its happened 3 times this year now, I can only imagine how bad it is for Yaks, Canoes and smaller boats. Its sad imo they have to have a """Operation""" to get enforcement out and about. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
