A 30' XBoat caring 1000 pounds of Ballast with its nose pointing in the air, playing music so loud it vibrates the water 1/4 mile ahead of the boat is a terrorist threat!

Don't feel bad Bill, though I stayed home today I will be out tomorrow morning because I know tonight there will be a lot of people up very late and be to hung over to go out first thing in the morning tomorrow ( Learned this trick years ago ).

But I live very near the main drags to Beaver Lake from Rogers, Bentonville and Springdale and have heard sirens almost every 15 minutes all day which tells me a lot of stupidity going on. I had to run to the store a little while ago and saw the end all be all of scratching your heads... A Gremlin pulling a Ski Nautic and I could see the Keg in the back of the hatch.

I am glad I stayed home and spent the day tying Slow Deaths and Harness rigs.

Great minds think alike, although I do have a roast in the oven.

Try this combo: Size 1 Owner worm hook, bobber stop, two pill floats in sherbet (white, blue, pink, chartreuse), bead, pink tiger macks smile blade.

Oops. Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Bill i agree with it being a threat but what you do to defend yourself is what I am thinking about. Being a former officier of the law I am sure you know how murky that can be

and that right there is why i keep a good old fashioned sling shot in the boat

slingshot is a good idea but i keep a big silver spoon on spinning rod if i whing that spoon a little too close to their heads or cross their lines all i say is ooops!!!! i was dead serious in my thread the other day bout using that 7'10'' rod i just got for that very reason, i wanted to go today since the weather has been a little cooler but theres no way i'm heading to the rock or stockton. Bill I'm glad your safe but those were way too close calls for me. Something has to be done but i sure don't know what the answer is because you cant fix stupid.

Heck, run a (very) shallow trot line in the area you're fishing. Laugh your butt off when they cut between you and the bank and their prop takes hold. And screw the skiers they're pulling. Lesson learned.

Its all nice to talk big and bad on the net BUT there are big bad guys out there and starting something over someone's stupidity is a good way to get hurt or killed at worse and go to jail at best. KEEP in mind every Dick and Debby has a go-pro or video on their phone and if you sling lead at them you WILL be the one caught on camera and WILL be the one cited or arrested for being stupid and keep in mind those violation points can add-up fast and cost you your Fishing license.

I would say start videoing the morons and uploading the video to the local news stations Facebook pages, they get enough of it they will do a story and get law enforcement really active and when the fools and there friends see it on a FB the embarrassment and worry about the law coming will be priceless.

I surely understand everyone's frustration with the terminally stupid and dangerous behavior often seen this time of year. I also know a lot of the ideas expressed are just folks talking, but Bill certainly did the right thing by not "meeting fire with fire".

If we agree that you can't fix stupid (I know that is true) then we won't change these folks by retaliating.

Thanks for the post, Bill, and reminding us all to be extra careful.

That's why I launched my tin boat in my own pond today. No patience for the idiocy that pervades our public waters.
