merc1997 Bo Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 nice pic quill. fin and feathers, sounds like you had a nice trip! will those same fish hit any sort of drop shot?? or, they just ignore it?? the size of the ned is similar in size but fatter. and, when i am talking drop shot, i am talking about casting and dragging the bait, not vertical fishing. that piece of senko might work on a drop shot rig dragging was what was going through my mind. keep whacking them. bo
Feathers and Fins Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 No Idea about the drop shot but it should work I would think. I honestly haven't targeted bass in a long time but was just in the mood yesterday to do something different and based off Joes report from the prior day felt I had a decent chance to try the Ned and catch a few fish which I had been thinking about for some time. If it hadn't been for his report I probably would have just pulled crawlers and not discovered the good bite on gills and bass. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

Watch out...that first bass on the varmint is what we call the "gateway bass". Next thing you know you'll be ruined.
Ham Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I'm dying to try my little deep spoons for those larger deep bluegill. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

rps Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Never have worked with a roller guide. We need to spend some hours talking. I do not understand all the salt water knowledge you are applying to fresh water. You must remember 10# is "heavy" line to me now days.
Feathers and Fins Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Oh you would fall in love with roller guides. These are the little jewels I'll be ordering http://www.aftco.com/lightweight-roller-guides-1016-prd1.htm https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
