PHhunter Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 I wonder how many bass eggs the carp suck down? Maybe they are doing the bass fisherman a favor?
Old plug Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 after having a small 3 ft gar fight me for a 2 lb bass I wonder how mixh they effect the population of other fish.
WettinLine Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 You don't like tourists or those who profit from them, but you moved to the Branson/Table Rock Lake area? That reminds me of people who build houses on the golf course and then complain when a golf ball ends up in their yard. I'm not an expert on crime, but I strongly doubt that tourists are to blame for the current run of thefts on the lake. Sorry Dick Tracy well made you can apprehend the suspects and bright light them!! Oh and what do I get from tourist? Its like this you can choose a job but not its area!!
Bird Watcher Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Maybe it's time we all started acting like professionals in these situations.
Goggle-Eyed Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Everyone can thank Johnny for the sudden popularity for bowfishing, he is like what Willie is to ducking hunting and facial hair. Make sure you all thank him by shopping else where, it won't hurt him a bit but it sure helps out the others. I think that would be Johnny Jr... Or John Jr... or the "other Johnny" All Hale the "blood vessel"... LOL, Johnny's son has definitely promoted Bow Fishing. Having seen the turn out of kids at Bowfishing events, I am just glad he is promoting it. I have watched the decline in kids fishing over the past couple of decades. glad that someone is getting kids back into the outdoors. I also LOL'd about the Bass Fisherman that complain about "everyone" else... LOL. Living on LOZ, not a lot pisses me off anymore... However the boat pulling the tuber that almost bounced the tuber off my boat did get my adrenalin going... I am pretty sure it was going to hurt him more than me!!! Joe
Champ188 Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Sorry Dick Tracy well made you can apprehend the suspects and bright light them!! Oh and what do I get from tourist? Its like this you can choose a job but not its area!! Why do the tourists or those in the tourism industry owe you anything? We all pay taxes, no matter where we live. If you don't like the fact that others are making money off the tourists and you aren't, here's an idea ... get into a business that profits from tourism. For the record, I don't profit one thin dime from tourism. But neither am I envious of those who do or resentful that a Corps of Engineers lake is open to anyone who might like to use it. Seems like you have a very healthy but misplaced sense of entitlement.
Feathers and Fins Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Wetlines; Bless your heart have you ever thought about fishing on weekdays if you hate the crowds so much. Most of us don't like heavy crowds and cant wait for October but do understand it is what it is and yes people will vent about it and that's fine. You moved here and Branson certainly was no Secret about tourism SO YOU HAD TO KNOW what you were getting in to and truthfully there are more locals MO / AR that use the lakes than tourist from out of the area, so your tourist argument doesn't hold water. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
WettinLine Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 FnF Your totally correct about who uses the water no doubt about it. I'm just saying big tournaments only benefits a few of the locals, the majority has to deal with increased traffic so I'm not a supporter of the "bowfishing tournament". So getting back to the main tooic - I too was cut off by a dozen bowfishing boats that night of the tournament and all I heard was "big money on the line". That was the day I became a cabelas club member.
REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 the blood vessel is something else! it's a head turner
