ColdWaterFshr Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 All of these stories are pretty sad, but I can't say I'm surprised. I swore off public campgrounds years ago. Even the better ones, with the most strict of campground hosts and frequent park ranger patrols, or even in late fall or very early spring, you think you have the place to yourself and then some jackhammer rolls in . . . . I just don't do it anymore. Its too much work and effort to have it spoiled by the very jackasses you are trying to get away from.

I'm actually getting to the stage where I would rather stay in a hotel in close proximity to the river. But my kids need to experience camping a few times. ness Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Ha, I see I'm not alone. I do like to camp, but I'm getting to where it's more trouble than it's worth especially now that the kids are grown. If I do, it's a pretty scaled down affair these days. There's a lot to be said for having a bed, shower, fridge and microwave. Oh, and a toilet, continental breakfast, internet, ice machine, TV. John
