Old plug Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 So how do you think the new Magnum Spoon will do at TR? Got them to fish TVA lakes with but figured I'll see if I can't get anything going down here with them. After waiting a month since I ordered them they finally arrived today.[/quote If they do not take somea shad sides and use them as trailers. It will work then for sure. At least it does up here on LOZ.
bfishn Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I put some miles on that Cicada with little to show. Got the feeling it shouted "run for your lives!". Might be a better drift bait, jigging's pretty aggressive. I can't dance like I used to.
Feathers and Fins Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I know what your doing but wont tell lol. The giant spoons are nothing news worthy its an old bait and they have caught many big bass throw some bucktail on the treble and throw it out and work it surface in midfall and early spring and in summer deep jig it in open water around big shad in these lakes the Cal guys did it around trout and the FL boys did it around Golden Shiners. I would hold on and be ready for a smile factor of 10+ when you do hook up because it should be a bigun. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Champ188 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I think someone has designs on getting their lures down to ... oh let's say around 42 feet?
rps Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 I did not feel 100% this morning so I stuck closer to the marina than my original plan. I jigged deep trees and one set of docks, all above Devils Dive (Fletchers old place). I had one very good fish on but it pulled off. That was it. Next trip, if I feel better, I am headed to deeper waters.
rps Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 Thanks Champ. Don't know what it was, but I'm thinking an early bed time might help.
Pepe Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Hopefully a big bowl of Mama's good-love chicken soup and a good nights sleep will put you right, RPS. Feel better and thanks for all the solid reports.
