Jeff Tief Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Great report, don't know if I like the fishing pictures or the food pictures best. Now Mrs. T wants to try that kind of trip!
Ozark Sweetwater Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Great report Billet!. That is my favorite area to fish as well. I spend a couple weeks out there every year, unfortunately it's not going to happen this year but next year, I'll be there for sure. The Tongue river can be tough in spots but it is a really fun stream to fish. The North and Southfork are my favorites followed by the canyon section of the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone. No fun at all getting in and out of the canyon but worth every effort. http://ozarksweetwater.com
BilletHead Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 Trigg, We have only been in the canyon a bit from the bottom. Did you drop in over the side? I have peeked over the trail that drops down the side. Ronnie you will have to borrow my knees if you go. I'll keep the bald head though BilletHead "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" Neither are listed on any maps. You just need to make sure it's fishable before you make the trek down. It's really no fun to hike in and find out you can't cross the river. Unfortunately, I know from experience. Here's a few pics The reward... http://ozarksweetwater.com
BilletHead Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 Yep they call it cardiac out there. Must of been awesome to do that. You might of skipped the right year. Storms were keeping things pretty murked up. Oh to be twenty to thirty years younger and make that climb. Did a whirlwind trip to IA a couple weeks ago and got skunked the day we fished. BilletHead 1 John
