mic Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Short of a very long story, I had a pumpkin and zucchini grow inches away from each other. We ate two zucchini. The first one was perfectly normal. The second on had huge seeds and the inside sort of smelled like pumkin. Is it possible that the cross pollinated? Either way, it was really good fried with red tators.
Quillback Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I don't know - but it sounds like it happened.
Justin Spencer Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Has to be from seed that was cross pollinated, then it can happen, cross pollinization from a pure seed won't matter year one, but save the seeds and next year can be a hybrid. mic Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 I don't know about that one Justin. The big seeds inside would be the next generation.
jpb2187 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Pumk-Chini, sounds like something my wife would order at Starbucks...
