Agreed. The best teams at the end of the year may not be the best deserving.

It's virtualy impossible to rank teams late in the season ignoring their record. There's no doubt that the best teams might not play in the final because they started slow, but nothing is perfect. I just have a problem with believeing that commitee members have the time and patience to do a good job of ranking. The coaches poll is in the same boat. How can anyone believe that a coach, say on the west coast has the time or desire to look at SEC or Big 12 teams?

I think the while the conference champions might not produce the best team at the end of the season, they will certainly be the most consistant.

I agree. The only "deserving" teams should be the absolutely best teams. Seems everybody wants to change it but nobody wants to make it better.

So by that standard Florida St should not be even in a Bowl, they sure aint looked great.... Yet Arkansas should be in a Major Bowl as they have by strength of schedule and the way they played all year deserved much more.
