Quillback Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I always wondered how they could grow a ham that fits perfectly into a can. I wonder what part of the hog the "Spam" cut comes from?
Greasy B Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I would highly recommend a book called In Defense Of Food by Michael Pollen. Mr Pollen does an excellent job at describing how "food manufacturing" has corrupted the western diet and how to avoid manufactured food. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Mitch f Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 I'll try to find that book! Or you could try to shop at Whole Foods! Naaaaahhhh "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
rps Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 You want fillet? Buy a complete pizmo. Strip it of excess fat and silver skin. Slice into one person portions. Wrap each portion tightly in cling film and place in a freezer baggie. Freeze. Take out what you need for tomorrow and thaw in the refrigerator. If you want a lesson on the prep of a pizmo the internet will show you. If you want me to show you, buy two and I will drive to you, clean both and only take one home. It would still be cheaper than buying the steak at the grocery.
Mitch f Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 Well, Mitch I got bad news this week.....I won't be eating steak much any more.....taking a stress test today at 10:30 I have to be around for awhile so I can see Emily and Audrey's weddings and still go nail smallies. I am paying for years of debauchery. Turns out your ticker's in great shape!! Congrats "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
