LittleRedFisherman Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Got to break in the boat on the current yesterday afternoon. Worked till about 3, before my buddy Chad that works with me on the farm and I took off to the Current. I had installed seat bases and a trolling moter on the boat earlier in the week, and I was pumped to try it out. We caught about 20 from 4 to dark, with the dog days of summer we were catching a few more spots this time, but Chad caught two nice hybrid smallies or mean mouths as some call them. I also caught a walleye on a crankbait, but it slipped out of my hands before I could snap a picture, it was around 16 inches. Water is down some, but still plenty to navigate good. Great way to end a work day!! Oh yeah, there's a big one got away story, Chad's weighted senko was outcatching my non weighted, and he pitched one in around a deep rock bank point, and hung a hoss, never saw it before it broke off, he was sick, but just makes you wanna go back more! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!

Yeah, that was fun, hard to get to do this on a weekday, hope before harvest gets cranked I can pull a couple more of these off.. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Seth Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Looks like a good time! I'm itching to get back out on the water something fierce! Between getting ready for bow season and not feeling well, I haven't fished for several weeks now.
