Mitch the USA use to be the Dog the bit, now under this administration its more like the Dog who growls and nips.

we have seen it costs trillions to bite, and in the middle east it never solves anything. We can't keep repeating our mistakes and running up the deficit. I sure don't have any good answers, but sacrificing our boys ”just in case”, doesn't sit well with me. Some action must be taken when conflicts arise and air strikes are a relatively safe and somewhat effective way to go in many cases, boots on the ground overseas should be avoided at all costs in my opinion.

Yep, I agree, use the technology and special forces against the terrorists.

Justin there is a solution but most Americans and other in the world have no appetite for it. In War the objective is suppose to be total victory and that is fairly obvious when facing another country with borders and a military, you conquer them.

With terrorist there is no "country or borders" and truthfully I do not think of it as a war, nor is it manhunts for criminals. I would call it a World Security Issue that all countries should view the same. Politicians politic and this is a time when the solution is simple but far from ( hands not bloodied ) Simply obliterate from the face of the planet all cities, towns, nomad villages where these terrorist are. Next make it know this is not going to be a capture mission but a ter

To clarify what I meant;

if we kick the dog (see US covert actions in the Soviet/Afghani war), we might get bit (see 9/11). Did they attack Brazil, Norway, or any other nation that historically minds its' own business?

Don't mistake my thoughts for sympathy for the 9/11 perps in any way. There is none to be had for that despicable act. But it was hardly unprovoked, and as such, it should have been expected. That's the lesson we should pass on.

I can't dance like I used to.

Patriotism means love of country, not love of war. I think some people confuse the two.

Dividing the country is good for business, from a politician's point of view. The other side bad, me good. Only takes 50 percent plus 1 to agree with you to stay in business.

Can anyone deny we will have had 16 consecutive years of ineffective (at best) leadership by the time Obama leaves office? And 15 consecutive years of war? Wow.

Lots of people getting rich off this scheme too. Me not one of them, nor I suspect you. We the people need to take our country back.

You are right Hank. Politicians have become business men, and not servants working for the people. I agree we need a change, but this is our system and not sure how to make the changes as it seems there are no good politicians left.
