What's Up? Bass Report

We have been diving a bunch in Bull Shoals, this month. We dove in the Lead Hill, Oakland, and Big Sister areas. We have been seeing a bunch of bass. Most of them have been in the 20 - 30 foot range. I know the fishing has been off but the fish are there.

We have depth gauge on our dive gear that tells the depth.

is it work related?

If work related what were/are you looking for in those areas of the lake , just curious.

We haven't seen any yellow perch but we don't really go that deep (35 feet or so). We did get a report from a walleye angler about one he caught near Howard Creek.

Fish 24/7,

We are diving in these areas for work. We are looking at our existing brush piles and finding new spots for a habitat project that we will be doing next summer on Bull.

Jeff, my "go to" walleye guy gave up on 'em a month ago because it got so slow. Now he's after ol'whiskers and is doing really good with that.

I was out from 6-9 last night bass fishing in the Theodosia arm. Had not been on the lake lately, but I figured w/ water temps still in the mid-high 70's and almost no wind they would probably be out off the banks. I tried the edges and drops in 30-50' w/ a spoon, caught 0, Saw shad everywhere up there but couldnt get bit, didn't mark many fish around the bait either. The marks I did see were mostly gar , they were all over the place...BIG ONES! Time to move. I ran down lake a mile or so and found some bass 25-30' on the bottom in the middle of a cove. A good early Fall spot. It was a chunky rock bottom. There I caught 8 lmb on a 3/4 fb jig , 5 were legal.They weighed a lil over 16lbs. on the Berkley digi. Lost another keeper, just a 2lber ,when she jumped. ... All were released.
