Dutch Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 One thing to keep in mind is that is one shallow pond.
Guest Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 swim a jig around the grass, frogs, square bill crankbaits, chatter baits, brush hogs, etc. Piney & illinois Bayou are my favorite areas.
Members champ203 Posted October 8, 2014 Members Posted October 8, 2014 The bayou and piney are great, but this time of year i head towards ozark dam and fish the current if they are generating.....could catch a little of everything and there are some pigs up there of all species...target the jetties and swim a jig or crankbait the tips and current eddies.
Dewayne French Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Second to Champ words of Wisdom!! What area are you putting in would likely be the key to your options. One of my Favorite ponds!!
bfishn Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 +2 for Ozark dam, especially for the next month! Put in right at Ozark dam. North side, just east of town. I can't dance like I used to.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 I went last weekend, my buddy lives 2 miles from a launch, not sure which one. He had never been on the lake. We drove down to the Plant which was 15 mile. He works there and wanted to see it from the water. The wind picked up and it was white capping like crazy. A little more than my boat could handle. Made it back close to the launch and fished a calm backwater for an hour. Only caught one little guy. So pretty much we didnt fish hardly at all. Glad i have a good Map in my GPS. That is one shallow lake. Would have been in trouble if i wasnt paying attention. Really neat lake
