Champ188 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 You're welcome, Vernon. I sure hate what happened to you. If there's a safe dock on the lake and there's probably not, Harper's Valley would come pretty close to being it. You gotta be wanting to go back there to go back there, if you know what I mean. Thing is with them, there's plenty good enough boat parking up by your room that you can park it up there at night. They have their own ramp on-site so that makes it double easy to just put it on the trailer at night. Hang in there. I'm as hooked on golf as anyone and can shoot a pretty decent score most days, but it doesn't replace fishing. So hush up bout lettin' those jackwagons drive you off Table Rock. That's just crazy talk.
vernon Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 Ok, you got me! No more whinin here. This was likely our last trip of year so I've got a few months to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. Spreading the cost over a few months is more easily swallowed than all at once for sure. And as Wrench commented, some downsizing is likely warranted as well. Thanks for the comments, suggestions and encouragement. See y'all again in March! Nitroman Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Feel your loss as I have been there & done that. I would strongly suggest you check with your insurance agent re. if your stuff is covered by your home owners policy as it may well be. Back in September 2001 I was on TRUMAN LAKE ( STAYING @ OSAGE BLUFF AS I DID FOR YEARS ) & my RANGER & EVERYTHING IN IT was stolen out of a boat-slip @ the OSAGE BLUFF MARINA. Got the RANGER back later that day ( WAS FOUND FLOATING IN A COVE BY A LAUNCH RAMP ) everything there but " ALL MY TACKLE & PERSONAL PROPERTY WAS GONE " called my insurance agent & he said drive into BPS in Springfield or anywhere else you want to go & buy anything you need it's all covered by your home owners policy. File a report with the MISSOURI STATE WATER PATROL & contact me when you get home. Maybe I just got lucky for once I don't know, but all my stuff was replaced to the tune of almost $15000.00 & back in 2001 that was a lot of tackle. All I had to do was file the report along with an itemized list of what was stolen & what it cost. " GOOD LUCK " sounds like you need a little. Actually wasn't too sure where to start since this "merger" between Water Patrol and Highway Patrol. The last time I encountered a similar but much lesser incident I was told that if its on land such as Kimberling's parking lot it's local police but if on water such as the boat slip its Water Patrol. Whoever that is anymore. Thanks much for info! "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.
